Shari Darling - also known as the Sophisticated Wino - has started the "Peterborough Cooking and Wine Club" to be found on http://www.meetup.com/. The first event is March 14th at the Pasta Shop at 165 Sherbrooke, starting at 5:00 p.m. The first class is entitled "The Art and Science of the Perfect Fresh Noodle." In this cooking class, you'll learn to make fresh pasta and pasta sauces, how to pair wine with the right noodle and sauce and enjoy a pasta dish with a glass of wine." The cost is $40.00. You have to registered to the club, which is free, and then sign up for the class. You can pay for the class via paypal, as well.
In other news, Shari's new cookbook entitled "Orgasmic Appetizers and Matching Wines -- Tiny Bites with the MOAN Factor" was just awarded the Best Food and Wine Pairing Cookbook in Canada at the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards. In May my cookbook goes onto compete against other cookbooks in this same category from around the world in hopes of my bringing home the award for Best Food and Wine Pairing Cookbook in the World.
